Assassin’s Creed 2 Details
Everyone’s all excited about the rumors of details from Assassin’s Creed. Well we have it on good authority as to the details in the game. I’m working on some early screens that you won’t see in Game Informer so stay tuned. Until then here are some of the details:
Weapons:
- Battle axe
- Hammer of sorts
- Battle mace
- spear,
- 2 different sword types
- spear /axe
- smaller blades ( I think more throwing knives)
Now I don’t know of many Assassins that would run around with an axe or mace. Seems like they would be too large and clunky.
Swimming is now possible! That’s right and he may be able to dive like Laura Croft in the Last Tomb Raider ( I just made that up)
Da Vincis workshop is in the game
Locations include Saint Marks Basilica, The Grand Canal, The Little Canal, and the Rialto bridge.
Altair is from 1191 and the game opens in 1497 so you are playing as a new ancestor of Altair / Desmond
The main characters name is Ezio Auditore de Firenze a noble from Florence
Actual historical characters are in the game including Machiavelli, Caterina Sofrza, and Lorenzo de Medici so I’m sure the team working on the game does a great job of getting you into the feel of that time period.
As I understand it you can fly somehow. I don’t want to spoil it for you and for me because I’m not sure if it’s flying or gliding. I think it’s more of a glider…I’ll give details once I find out. Your skills have increased and you can disarm enemies and use their own weapons against them. I much needed addition.
They have eliminated the ease dropping and pick pocketing missions. I actually didn’t mind that so much. I wonder how you steal knives for thugs. You also now have to go and see a street doctor if you get injured badly.
They have added new enemy types and AI. New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the Archers
- Some type of elite soldier
- Heavy armor troops – Guess that explains the battle axe I suppose?
You can assassinate people while hidden, but doing this may expose you.
The Lorendo de Medici assassination is in the game. Don’t know who this guy is? Click on him!
Just like in GTA day turns to knight and night to day. Now it makes more sense to actually sleep or use the night as cover for your missions.
