How has the Economic downturn impacted your gaming? Preview Image

Economy got you down?  Are you wondering where your next shooter is going to come from?

The Dow reaches record lows. Congress and the Senate passes 800 Billion in spending and you want to go pick up the latest game from Gamestop for $60. Has the bad economy effected your game buying habits? Have you had to hold off from getting the new Street Fighter IV, or reserving Halo Wars? I see this entire issue in a few different ways and I think each person has their role to play in helping things to get better.

If you have the money to go buy a game go buy it! The world is not going to end because the market is down. Is Game Stop or Play N Trade going to stop selling games because the market is down? No they are just going to have to lower prices and find ways to get people in the stores. So solution one is if you have the money go shopping your gaming shouldn’t suffer because of some greedy bankers.

If you don’t have the money sell all your old games. No matter what crap games you own there are people with cash that want to buy them. Take that money and go get at least one new game that you want and save the rest. Again the answer if you didn’t get it is to continue to put money in the market and support the stores we want to shop at.

Seriously the current conditions will affect our great country in ways that I don’t think we can imagine. Twenty years from now when you look back on these time you will be able to tell your kids that you didn’t let fear guide you and you tried to support the places you like. If we all stop buying games and game related stuff the stores we love won’t be around. What do you think? Post your comments below.
