Punished with No Mercy
The Punisher, Silver Sable, Barracuda, Jigsaw, and Bushwacker it’s gotta be good Right?
Well that’s what I was hoping for after all The Punisher No Mercy has all the makings of a great game. We have artist form Marvel Mike Deodato, and that guys is the real deal. The world in The Punisher No Mercy looks amazing. It really does for a digital download I was thoroughly impressed with the look and feel. The characters were also very well drawn and have the look in the loading screens that I would hope for in a Marvel game.
Each level start with a comic book scene and The Punisher progressing through the story. That’s actually all you get. The game is truly in an Arena style match with a continuous stream of enemies coming at you from all sides. This would seem like fun right? Well it is to a point but I found targeting a little too assisted and way to easy to get kills, but with goals like killing 150 bad guys in under 10 minutes is just wrong. I mean I love killing like any FPS fan but 150 guys in one level! Well it’s doable if you really work at it but it’s going to take a few attempts to get it right.
I have to mention and only an honorable mention of the online mode. I was only able to complete one game online and that was very laggy (Not a word) and glitchy (Again not a word) that it was just about not playable. I tried several times to get a good game online but then I figured it out. I wasn’t playing a good game! I tried so hard to make this game fun but after a couple of levels it just got boring.
The story mode only took about 1:27 minutes to complete. That’s right one hour and twenty seven minutesto complete. The way The Punisher: no Mercy ends leaves you hanging for more. More punishment that is. I assume since another movie is coming out later this year the game is a setup for that to get people into The Punisher. If Zen Studios was looking to do that with this game then it’s and Epic Fail.
It’s not too we rate a game thing poorly but in the spirit of the game “the Guilty Must Be Punished!”
