New options come to Street Fighter IV with an eye towards serious players…thank you Capcom.   Street Fighter IV’s Championship Mode update offers players the chance to compete in tournaments and watch the replays of the best tournament matches.

Now this is a company knowing it’s base and responding to what fight fans have been wanting for a long time.  A viable way to compete online, talk smack about that head you just smashed and be able to prove it.  An added bonus would be if you could upload those files to a YouTube type website for everyone to watch.

More titles from all genres should take a good look at the execution of this mode and work it into upcoming titles.  Are you listening  Microsoft!

I know some have been talking about this option should have been in the game from the start and I don’t agree.  If you put an option in from the start it tends to get ignored.  Just take for expamle how long it takes for new maps to be introduced in shooters like Halo 3 that’s still in the top spot for users online using XBOX Live.  The reason is you don’t give em everything all at once you hold back a little bit to keep things fresh.  Best of all it’s for FREE!

Anyhow we are looking forward to this new mode and are quietly planing something with Capcom to make it worth your while to enter and win.  So keep that quiet that we could be giving away something in our April 24th Street Fighter IV Best on the Planet Tournament sponsored by Capcom.  Just don’t tell anyone yet.
