Watchmen – The best Anti-Hero Moive Ever! Preview Image

I visceral and gritty trip down the rabbit hole to a alternate universe you never want to visit.

Watchman is one of those movies that becomes and instant classic the first time you see it. So before I go too far I’ll let you know there won’t be any spoilers here I’m not going to tell you about the movie because there are review sites for that. What I am going to do is try to paint a picture of the world of Watchmen so if you haven’t visited the theather yet you will. You will leave the film changed.

Anyone going to Watchmen should have a little background. Imagine a world were masked superheros (If you want to call them that) was nothing out of the ordinary. It’s 1985 and the second generation of superheros has just been retired due to public outrage. The cast of characters sound more like a cast of misfits than your traditional heroes.

Rorschach and the Comedian help you to understand this world in a way I wasn’t prepared for. They are on the side of good or what is suppose to be good. They bring about justice of a different sort. Think Batman but only evil at least part of the time. In a part of the movie Rorschach is imprisoned and gets into it with one of the many he has put in the same prison. There is an incident and he has the opportunity to show some of what makes him Rorschach if you get what I’m trying to say. He says something that I think defines the movie “You all think that I’m locked in here with you, but you are all locked in here with me.”

This is the only hero movie were no one cheered for the heroes at the end of the movie, and it didn’t end like you wanted and everything was fine in the end but everything was not fine. If millions die would it be worth it? That’s one of the many questions you will ask when leaving the world of Watchmen. What questions did you have? Could you live in a world like that?
